There was a second day of testing at the Fiorano circuit today, with a program based on correlating simulator data with that gathered on track. Sharing the driving duties on the “standard” SF15-T were Scuderia Ferrari’s third driver, Antonio Giovinazzi, who was behind the wheel in the morning and Kimi Raikkonen, who took over for the afternoon. The weather was far from ideal, especially when Kimi was driving, with the Finn having to deal with rain as well as strong winds. Nevertheless, he still completed several runs.

The Fiorano circuit provided the backdrop for Antonio Giovinazzi’s track debut with Ferrari, when he got behind the wheel of an SF15-T today.

The number refers to the seventy years of history, which is truly unique for any marquee in the sport. The letters in the name stand simply for Scuderia Ferrari and the Hybrid form of power. The Italian flag is clearly visible on the “sail” of the engine cover, with a look that recalls the 70s. After the launch, the Ferrari SF70H, built to compete in the Formula 1 World Championship, also took its first steps today at the historic Fiorano track, combining the shakedown with a filming day to acquire footage for commercial purposes.

The 63rd single-seater designed and built by Scuderia Ferrari to take part in the Formula 1 World Championship is born out of a regulation change that is without precedent in this category of motor sport. Generally, in the past, regulations went in the direction of slowing down the cars. However, this year, the rule changes go in the opposite direction, meaning the cars have more aerodynamic down force and more mechanical grip.
The fourth round of the Asia Pacific Ferrari Challenge ended today at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia amidst very high track temperatures hovering around 50 degrees Celsius. If the first race was dramatic, the second was spectacular. Despite the fierce battle among the 26 drivers in the field, Steve Wyatt from Australia and Chinese Liang Wang repeat their wins from Race-1 in their respective classifications. Huilin Han from China took the Pirelli AM classification.

With 31 drivers from 13 countries participating in the race, the 5.543 km circuit was an adrenaline-filled affair for the spectators, with the hot and humid weather contributing to the fierce battle on the first day.

Maranello, 3 August – The New Zealand racing driver Chris Amon has died of cancer at the age of 73. He is acknowledged as one of the most talented racing drivers of all time, despite the fact that he never won a Formula 1 Grand Prix, out of a total of 108 in which he took part. He drove 27 of them for Scuderia Ferrari from 1967 to ’69, taking three pole positions in the 312 F1.
